Dutch Broadway Project Update: October 26, 2020

National Grid is modernizing existing natural gas infrastructure in the Stewart Avenue median, from Franklin Avenue to Clinton Road, beginning this month. This project upgrades and modernizes existing infrastructure to increase reliability, safety, and service for Long Island. Project completion is expected in winter 2020, weather permitting. Here is an update for the weeks of October 26 and November 2:

Week of October 26

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we will have longer works days and will be on site at Stewart Avenue and John Street from 8 am to 7 pm.

Wednesday, October 28, through Friday, October 30, we will be welding and replacing Valve 2735 (Stewart Avenue and John Street).

Thursday, October 29, we will be welding Charging Point 16 (Franklin and Stewart Avenues).

Friday, October 30, we will be welding Stopple 6 (Emmet Place and Stewart Avenue). This work may carry over to Saturday, October 31, and possibly Sunday, November 1, if necessary. If we were to work on Saturday and Sunday, the hours would be 8 am to 4 pm.

Week of November 2

Monday, November 2, we will begin welding Charging Point 17 (between Butler Place and Washington Avenue on Stewart Avenue).
